Ford Raptor Build

2017

I’ve always been a Dodge/Ram guy but when the Raptors came out I liked them but was far from being able to afford one at 20 years old in 2010. When the Gen 2 Raptor came out in 2017 I finally found a new dream truck that also wasn’t a Ram. So in January one 2021 while in the midst of building a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 I traded it in on a 2017 Ford Raptor with 36,000 miles.

The idea of wanting a Gen 2 Raptor wasn’t to just go fast and be in the desert and all that comes with being a regular Raptor owner, well.. besides those Starbucks drive thru’s haha. It was a truck that was already capable, at least for what I need. I live in Western Washington. Tons of mountain trails, although they’re tight and I rub on every tree and bush imaginable but since I’m 6’4” I’m not driving a Tacoma. Coming already on 35s, geared correctly, rear locker, front posi, good mpg for a full size, great power, the aluminum is nice since i’m used to every scratch rusting on my dodges up here, the Raptor is pretty great choice. And so far as of writing this in 2024 still is a great choice for me.
